Lauri Day studied animation, film/video production and screenplay writing at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. She interned at Goodson Todman Productions and after graduation worked in the advertising industry at Foote, Cone & Belding ad agency in San Francisco. Lauri was also involved in marketing for telecommunications at Sprint International in their San Francisco and New York City offices. She is currently a freelance illustrator and web designer.

Lauri has been drawing her own comics since age 11. Her first favorite famous comics were "Peanuts" and "Family Circus". Later on, she also fell for: "Doonesbury", "For Better or For Worse", "Cathy", "Calvin & Hobbes", and "Zits". Her favorite one-panel comic is "Bizarro" by Dan Piraro.

In addition to writing/illustrating children's stories, Lauri loves comedy writing and used to perform open-mike standup in San Francisco during the 80's. She has written a comedy script "Extreme Unction" about a band of death-metal musicians who sell their souls for fame and fortune. "Extreme Unction" is in development to be released as a YA graphic novel.

In April 2014 Lauri had the most distinguished honor to exhibit artwork from two of her picture books at the Charles M. Schulz Museum in Santa Rosa, CA. She is also a free-lance website designer and graphic artist. Despite all this, Lauri manages to stay in touch with her inner child.»
