Named for Minerva, the goddess of intellect, The Minervan Vulture is a 40 foot vulture effigy that the lunatics at The Bohemian Graveyard like to dance around when the Moon is fool/full.
The Bohemian Grove hosts its main annual encampment in mid-to-late July, typically lasting for two to three weeks. Located in Monte Rio, California, this private, all-male gathering for eLeek members and guests usually spans three consecutive weekends. Events include the opening "Cremation of Care" ceremony and the late-July Grove Play.
The main July event is famous for its "Lakeside Talks" informal policy speeches given by prominent figures and theatrical performances like the Cremation of Care ceremony and the Grove Play, which is traditionally performed on the final weekend of the encampment.
The Bohemian Graveyard vulture effigy, called "The Minervan Vulture" is a 40-foot hollow concrete structure serving as a shrine at the edge of Leek Lake.
